Shut Down, Not Shaken Part 18 (Ask for Forgiveness, Not Permission)

Published on: 20th October, 2025

In this episode of Shut Down, Not Shaken, Cristin addresses the challenges faced by furloughed federal employees during a government shutdown. She emphasizes the importance of reclaiming personal agency and making decisions that prioritize one's own needs and responsibilities, rather than waiting for external permission. Kristin encourages listeners to practice self-leadership and take proactive steps to ensure their stability and well-being, even in uncertain times.

Reflection Questions

In what areas of my life have I been waiting for permission to act?

What would it look like to trust myself — fully — in making decisions that serve my well-being and my family’s needs?

How can I move from fear to discernment when making hard choices?

What stories have I been told about obedience, loyalty, or “staying in line” that no longer serve me?

What’s one small step I can take today that reflects power, not permission?
